As part of company's growth and development, is seeking potential candidates for the position of:
CORPORATE LEGAL SPECIALIST
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide timely and expert legal advice and guidance to the Company CEO / Executive Committee / senior management team of all functional areas and associates at all levels, taking into account the interest of the Company as a whole
• Regularly monitor and communicate changes in laws and regulations to people who need to know in the company
• Implement and communicate internal policies and procedures as necessary to ensure compliance with both local regulations and Group mandates
• Provide for the substantive legal needs of the company through contract drafting, negotiation and administration; litigation management; intellectual property protection; and other similar services
• Identify and retain all outside counsel as necessary to provide legal services for the company as well as manage their workload to ensure cost effectiveness and value-added services
• Support the Company's activities with respect to local governmental bodies and industry trade groups as necessary to further promote the company's strategy and business objectives
• Manage local corporate governance / corporate housekeeping
• Develop department goals which support the company's goals and business strategy
• Design and provide training to various groups of associates on areas of the law which are critical to the conduct of our business such as antitrust, Code of Ethics, employment practices, privacy laws and similar laws
• Identify, control, manage and minimize risk across a broad area of company functions
• Maintain and manage the company's budget for legal costs and services
• Manage, train and develop legal staff / assistants
Required Skill for the job:
• Excellent oral and written skills in English and Bahasa Indonesian including
a) the ability simply translate legal jargon,
b) the ability to relate legal requirements to business realities and
c) the ability to condense lengthy explanations into easily understood concepts
• Have a good understanding of local laws (particularly on the field of business laws and contracts)
• Possess leadership skills and the ability to work independently and proactively
• Ability to influence without authority
• Possess good confidence in public or group speaking and presentation skills
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Provide leadership concerning the Company Code of Business Conduct
• A good knowledge of our business and the needs and challenges of the retail industry
• Understand how to weigh and evaluate competing risks and business objectives
• The ability to read and understand financial statements and budget management abilities
• Patience and discipline to mentor and develop others
• Thorough and current legal training and experience
