BACKGROUND:

Just Associates (JASS) is a network of justice activists, scholars and popular educators in 13 countries worldwide committed to increasing women's voice, visibility and collective organizational power to advance a more just, equitable and sustainable world. JASS program strategy for 2009-2011 centers around our Movement-Building Initiative in MesoAmerica, South East Asia, and Southern Africa.

In order to implement the South East Asia program for 2009/2011, JASS Southeast Asia office in Medan, hiring a full-time Woman Program Coordinator/PC to assist the Coordinator of JASS SEA (CJS) with a one-year contract. The PC must be willing to stay/relocate in Medan and has excellent English in writing and speaking, especially in communication skills; with at least modest knowledge on women's human rights issues and the women's movement.

KEY TASKS INCLUDE:

a. To run the JASS SEA office in Medan (PESADA will be the host of the office).
b. To organize national and regional events, such as workshops and trainings.
c. Compiling information on women's rights related resources in the region.
d. To compose draft of activity and expenditure report.
e. Translating relevant materials from Indonesian to English and vice versa.
f. To develop and maintain files.
g. To develop communication with networks.

COMPETENCY & SKILLS REQUIREMENT:

-- Minimum bachelor degree (S1) in social sciences.
-- Experience in NGO or women's organization Management at least 2 years.
-- Fluent in English (written & spoken).
-- Having good communication skills and enjoy relationship with people
-- Able to operate computer at least WORD, Excel, data base and Power Point.
-- Experience in using email and Internet.
-- Able to work independently with high pressure.
-- Available to travel Indonesia and abroad.
