A major Oil and Gas Operator Company currently has an opening for an experienced Marine Mammal Observer. The role will support offshore seismic acquisition teams. The role is a short term contract; however the identified candidate could be offered several assignments yearly. The position would suit candidates with a minimum of 3 years experience who are looking for the opportunity to work with a market leading company to work on international projects.
Candidates must fulfil the following criteria;
- Knowledge of Marine Mammal observation techniques and UK JNCC guidelines and reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) standards
- Monitor and record Marine Mammal activity during the course of the survey
- Monitor and assess Contractor SHE procedures and processes in relation to Marine Mammals and other environmental matters
- Provide MMO training to vessel crew members as appropriate
- Compile a log of Marine Mammal sightings and activity
