A major Operator currently requires a Research and Development Coordinator to join its team in Saint John's, Newfoundland. The R&D Coordinator will be responsible for identifying and coordinating project-specific activities to ensure the overall R&D Program meets internal and regulatory requirements while maintaining accordance with the Atlantic Accord Implementation Acts.
Roles and responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Coordinate with various Project Teams on an overall Research and Development Program.
- Internal coordination and tracking of required approvals.
- Steward internal R&D budgeting and process tracking against overall R&D commitment for various phases of the project.
- Coordinate consideration and consolidated input on R&D proposals, either unsolicited or solicited from outside the Project Team.
- Represent Project Teams in external R&D workshops and meetings as required.
- The majority of the research expected to be conducted will be oriented around the harsh environment offshore Newfoundland and Labrador, and aligned with Company R&D priorities.
- Specific R&D aspects of offshore development may include:
- Ice Management
- Emergency Escape
- Evacuation and Rescue
- Protection of subsea infrastructure from iceberg impact
- Enhanced oil recovery from marginal fields
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
To qualify for this great role, you must possess the following skills/experience:
- Over five years relevant experience in complex multidiscipline Project/Operations environment.
- High level understanding of the various components of offshore developments (subsurface, facilities, operations, commercial).
- General familiarity with offshore regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with the Atlantic Accord Implementation Acts.
- Degree in an appropriate engineering descipline or technician's diploma.
- P.Eng designation preferred.
- Demonstrated coordination and planning skills and ability to organize Project activities.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good people management with a Commercial awareness.
- Adaptability, initiative and problem solving capacity.
- Willingness to travel on business trips.
